This conversation unfolds in the aftermath of the presentation of the Παλμός Audiovisual Performance at Studio/K during the Amsterdam Dance Event. Why did you choose to pursue Media Art? 

I am captivated by the expressive and creative possibilities that multimedia technologies offer. My interest lies in exploring the intersection of art and technology, using digital media as a powerful tool for self-expression and social commentary. Furthermore, the constantly evolving nature of media art excites me, as it presents endless opportunities for experimentation and pushing the boundaries of traditional artistic forms. I see media art as a dynamic medium that not only reflects our ever-changing technological landscape but also serves as a catalyst for shaping cultural narratives. This intersection allows me to engage with audiences in innovative ways, fostering a dialogue that transcends traditional artistic forms and resonates with the contemporary essence of our interconnected world.

How do you see technology influencing and shaping the creation and presentation of your artworks, and what possibilities does it open up for artistic expression?

Technology is crucial in shaping my art, serving as both medium and collaborator. Immersive audio-visual performances leverage technology to create unique, novel worlds. In essence, technology is a transformative tool, expanding the language of artistic expression by bridging the tangible and the abstract, the creator and the audience. In embracing technology as a partner in my creative process, I find it not only expands the boundaries of artistic expression but also enhances the shared experience between the artwork and its audience. This synergy fosters a unique connection, where the digital realm becomes a canvas for evoking emotions, challenging perceptions, and inviting viewers into a realm of endless artistic possibilities.

In what ways does your work address or comment on societal issues, and how do you believe media art can contribute to social discourse and change?

My work engages with societal issues by providing a lens through which to explore and comment on contemporary challenges.
